x402 Paid Data Guide

Serve paid merchant-data responses behind a facilitator-agnostic HTTP 402 verification interface.

The x402 package is experimental. It is useful when an autonomous agent needs paid enriched merchant data without binding OCG to one facilitator.

  • Expose a free search endpoint for public-good projections.
  • Expose a paid enriched endpoint for PII-filtered records and readiness reports.
  • Put any facilitator behind the verifier interface.
  • Keep the development bypass disabled in production, regardless of headers.
  • Filter strict payment fields before returning paid responses.
Pin exact versions in production. Expect breaking changes between minor releases until the experimental marker is removed by RFC.
